I am a giver. I like being thoughtful + I love spreading the love & bringing smiles to peoples faces, or just letting them know I was thinking of them. I have always been that way. Just randomly giving things. Sometimes it’s really thought out + planned + sometimes it’s spur of the moment. I just get a wild hair + act on impulse.
Anyways, for my co-workers this year, I originally wanted to do a watering can with little gardening items tucked inside for the end of the school year. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find a little metal watering can with a decent price for the amount I had to buy. So, I scratched that ideal. I thought about a “schools out for summer” theme & found the cutest summer themed buckets at the dollar store, but there wasn’t enough for everyone. I had to go back to the drawing board. I ended up with these metal tins from the dollar tree. Which honestly worked in my favor. I had no plans on going all out with them. I had a brainy idea to just put each of their names on them, and wound up on Tiktok and found a sunflower themed welcome sign that I loved, which lead to me going all out for the rest of this. 😅
I hand painted each one of these little tins with multiple layers of flowers and greenery, added a base color for their names, came back with the black lettering, added the special doodles and thought I was finally done. Then, I thought to myself, you know what would make these super meaningful? Adding a bunch of bible verses. I searched up a bunch of meaningful Bible verses + added them on where I could. I sealed them with some modge podge because it was all I had on hand to give it some sealing. The black tended to smudge a bit if I didn’t have enough modge podge on my brush, so keep that in mind if you try these yourself! They are far from perfect, but I still think they are super cute! Oh, and then, I stuffed them with these garden gloves, a pack of some type of flower seeds + a cute snail plant stake (pictured below) from the target bullseye section along with a little plastic birdie water globe from that section too.
Somehow, I did not end up getting a pic of the final product all put together. But you can imagine how cute it was, I guess 🤷🏼♀️. I ended up spending about $5 a piece on each one. So, honestly pretty cheap for a super cute and thoughtful gift. Also, totally kickin’ myself in the ass for not making myself one 🤓. Because how stinkin’ cute!
